About Michael
I am a passionate personal trainer with over 14 years’ experience both training and coaching. I have broken British powerlifting records, won physique competition titles and aspire to be a well-rounded ‘hybrid’ athlete who also enjoys to run, swim hike and cycle alongside strength training.
My goal is to help you unlock your potential and become the best version of yourself physically and mentally! Through effective training methods, motivation, and good dieting habits you can achieve amazing things.
I don’t know where I would be without fitness. Fitness is my foundation and a rock that keeps me rooted in a healthy lifestyle and mindset. I’d love to share this experience with you and watch as you progress and discover more about yourself. It excites me to expand people’s capabilities beyond what they thought possible. My goal is to make fitness and training fun for you.
I start this process by building a good relationship with you, identifying a training style that fits your goals and closely monitoring you throughout sessions. I offer a FREE consultation, where we discuss your ambitions, lifestyle, assess fitness, strength, physique, mobility and motivation to succeed.
Join many others who, through my coaching, have lost weight, toned up, set powerlifting records, stepped on stage, gained muscle and grown in confidence inside and out of the gym.
Whatever your goal, we can find your will and I can show you the way!
What made you want to become a PT?
Fitness and strength have been a big part of my life since age 12 when I began training calisthenics in my back garden. The initial motivation was to be bigger and stronger so I could defend myself from bullies at school. But I quickly began to love the discipline of a healthy lifestyle and training became an escape from daily life. Since then, I have learnt many lessons across bodybuilding, powerlifting, weight loss and general fitness training and I love to share my passion for fitness with others.
What do you specialise in?
My specialty lies in strength training programming and especially powerlifting, a sport which I have been competing and coaching in since 2016. My biggest achievement is setting the Mens British Deadlift record across multiple drug tested federations in both the sumo and conventional stances with 370kg and 368kg raw lifts respectively. I have coached others to British and World Record lifts in the IPF federation, most notably my client Nonso Chinye who holds the sub-junior world record with a 330kg deadlift at 17 years old., and Saheed Aregbe who holds the open mens deadlift record at 83kg with 342.5kg.
What do you like most about the Lift Each Other Studio?
I love LEO as I am a huge believer in using free weights to achieve almost all strength and fitness objectives. LEO is a compact gym but it has all the essentials in spades. Most gyms fill their space with machines which for the most part I think are just worse at building functional strength and muscle than their free weight counterpart. And with clients, I’d much rather teach them a more complicated free weight movement than throw them on a machine as I want to help people improve in terms of balance, coordination and true movement functionality.
LEO also has an amazing environment of passionate and knowledgeable coaches and members who all want to see eachother succeed. Its community is unlike any other gym I’ve been to and its amazing to be a part of.
